Cloon Keen Atelier was founded in 2002 by Maggie and Julian because of their desire to explore the world of perfumery with
intuition and creativity. Both previously worked in the film industry
and owe much of their creative approach to this background. They are
interested in telling a story through their perfumes which evoke
emotions, delight the senses and create a sense of wonder.
Initially intrigued by the history of perfume and perfumery techniques,
with a bulging collection of books, perfumes, and fragrance materials,
they began to conduct experiments with these ingredients. They then
sought out the help of the most visionary and talented perfumers to
translate these experiments into their collection of signature scents.
The Cloon Keen Atelier collection is a result of this collaborative
effort which fuses vision and craftsmanship.
The recurring theme of Cloon Keen Atelier is dramatic simplicity,
focussing on the integrity of the materials and applying their unique
'twist' to the themes. They also believe that the artisans who make
their collections in their Galway Atelier each provide a unique
signature to their work which is palpable in all of their products.
